SUMMARY:

In line with our strategy for developing advanced thermal management systems, the Technical Sales Engineer will identify and implement innovative solutions for battery storage and data center applications. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the development of new products and optimize existing systems.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Map prospects compatible with the Value Proposition with active Decision Centers within the United States.
  • Engage with potential clients to understand their thermal management needs and present tailored solutions.
  • Interpret technical requirements from engineering teams to support thermal management system design for battery storage and data center applications.
  • Understand thermal analysis and simulations to recommend appropriate materials and components for thermal management solutions.
  • Collaborate with R&D, commercial, marketing, financial, and legal teams to support new developments, including global product offerings from China and the EU.
  • Identify new growth opportunities and enhance product offerings by collaborating with other business developers and engineers.
  • Provide technical support and expertise during client meetings and negotiations.
  • Assist in the development of business plans and strategies, including pricing considerations for new product lines.
  • Evaluate the performance of thermal management systems in real-world applications and propose improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot issues related to thermal management.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities and engagements.
  • Willingness to travel (including air travel and adjusting to different time zones), up to 20% annually.
  • Understand market expectations for standards, features, and pricing of thermal management solutions.
  • Map the market to identify who buys what, where, who designs the systems, and who owns the supply chain decisions.
  • Create elevator pitches to gain access to key stakeholders and present technical solutions to validate or correct the value proposition.
  • Guide the Engineering team to develop custom solutions and acquire relevant design standards to ensure safe launch.
  • All other duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience in thermal management for battery storage systems and data centers.
  • Proficiency in thermal analysis and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and thermal management techniques.
  • Knowledge of battery storage systems and data center infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in engaging with clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
  • Experience in selling, developing, and marketing thermal management solutions.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

NON-REQUIRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in related field

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequent sitting.
  • Use of computer with repetitive mouse use, keyboarding and visual demands.
  • Must be able to work in the office (currently 3x/week) for collaborative purposes.
  • Domestic and international travel – Frequents standing, walking, sitting (airport, vehicle).
