ATOMS COORDINATOR

SUMMARY:

The ATOMS Coordinator is responsible for the deployment and coordination of ATOMS (ARaymond TOtal Management System) at the Logansport facility in conjunction with the Plant Leadership and Global ATOMS Community.  This position will interest those that have a desire and passion for improving and sustaining the foundation of a collaborative management system that is centered around the development and engagement of all employees. The ATOMS Coordinator will have a “Hands-On” approach to Coach, Mentor, Engage, Enable and Empower the teams. The ATOMS Coordinator will manage all continuous improvement projects to improve safety, productivity, quality, cost and efficiency.  The ATOMS Coordinator will have the ability to take the ATOMS methodologies and translate them into actionable plans while highlighting the benefits for each group involved. The ATOMS Coordinator will drive positive change through influence and collaboration.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Participates as plant facilitator for ATOMS deployment in coordination with all local employees and Global ATOMS Community.
  2. Responsible for preparing and monitoring the ATOMS deployment at the Logansport Facility.
  3. Responsible for coordinating the completion of the ATOMS Assessment
  4. Leads site communication, education and training of ATOMS with an ability to mentor employees
  5. Leads site pre-analysis in advance of rolling out pilot projects on focused elements of ATOMS, which includes base-lining operational performance, financial trending, and estimated improvement measurements.
  6. Closely monitors the ATOMS maturity level and develops actions in collaboration with employee work groups, supervisors and the leadership team to enhance the current situation in deploying ATOMS across the entire facility. 
  7. In conjunction with the Leadership Team, identifies and recommends metrics to evaluate the overall effectiveness and sustainability of process improvements.
  8. Willing to challenge conventional thinking, and drive accountability for the site including deployment and results while sustaining the application of ATOMS. 
  9. Leads the process of continuous improvement thinking & Kaizen events

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. The right candidate will have a 4-year degree, preferably in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or significant industry experience with a track record of driving process improvements through a sustainable management system.
  2. Must have 5 years of proven experience with implementing and using lean methods 
  3. Proven results in supporting employee development and engagement within a management system
  4. Role requires strong analytic abilities and above average communication skills. 
  5. Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Project and Power Point.
  6. Working knowledge and proven success of communicating lean to all levels, internal/external, technical and non-technical audience.
  7. Demonstrated strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills with proven change agent abilities.
  8. Strong project management skills.
  9. Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm, methodical, respectful and steady demeanor.
  10. Creativity in identifying key issues, resource requirements and ability to overcome challenges or obstacles.
  11. Influences others by applying a hands-on style of leadership and collaboration with employees at all levels of the organization.
  12. The ideal candidate will deploy a coaching leadership approach and be patient in the journey of continuous improvement.  A great listener who can energize and maintain momentum on continuous improvement projects.
  13. Facilitates strategic planning with the leadership team by using Hoshin Kanri/X matrix methodologies
  14. Experience with implementing a management system and sustaining the deployment
  15. Experience within the methodologies of change management
  16. Servant Leadership mindset
