We are looking for an Indirect and Direct Purchase Engineer to manage operations at our production site in Gebze (Kocaeli). Reporting directly to the Purchasing and Foreign Trade Manager.
Role and responsibilities
• Planning and managing the purchase processes for indirect and direct materials, services, and equipment, including the coordination of these processes.
• Establishing, managing, and developing strategic supplier relationships and long-term business partnerships.
• Conducting budget management and cost analysis to optimize cost savings efficiency within the purchase processes.
• Monitoring industry developments and supply chain trends to identify the most suitable suppliers and cost strategies for the company.
• Performing market research and price comparisons to explore alternative materials at the most competitive costs.
• Negotiating contract terms with suppliers, preparing contracts in compliance with legal requirements, and managing contract processes.
• Regularly monitoring and evaluating supplier performance and taking improvement actions when necessary.
• Tracking purchase performance indicators and preparing weekly and monthly reports.
• Managing purchase processes in accordance with the company’s quality standards.
• Collaborating closely with relevant departments to ensure timely and complete fulfillment of needs.
• Monitoring and reporting critical stock levels.
Education and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial, Mechanical, or Metallurgical and Materials Engineering).
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in indirect & direct purchase processes and supply chain management.
• Experience with digital purchase platforms.
• Proficiency in cost analysis, budget management, and contract negotiations.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Preferably experience in the Automotive sector with knowledge of plastic raw materials.
• Advanced level of English.
• Proficiency in SAP.
• Competent in MS Office programs.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Team-oriented, results-driven, and proactive.
